Recently, I’ve just released the first part in the new Bioinformatics from Scratch tutorial series on my YouTube channel, Data Professor.

This blog serves as a complementary step-by-step guide for downloading ChEMBL data specifically for aromatase, a crucial enzyme in the estrogen biosynthesis pathway.

(If you don’t have a Medium account, read here)

Downloading the ChEMBL data

Step 1: Go to https://www.ebi.ac.uk/chembl/. Next, click the “Search in ChEMBL” field.

Step 2: Type “aromatase”

Step 3: In the scrollable search field that pops up, scroll and find CHEMBL1978 Cytochrome P450 19A1 and click on it.

Step 4: Click “Activity Types for CHEMBL1978 (Cytochrome P450 19A1)”
